About

Dani Messerschmidt is a comedy writer and digital artist who left South Dakota to sit in traffic in Los Angeles. She has a Master’s degree from the University of Chicago, an MFA in screenwriting from the University of Southern California, and will thus be still paying off student loans on her deathbed. She spent years making (deeply strange) art with and creating the social media presence of Robert Downey, Jr. while working at his production company, Team Downey. More recently has been working as a writer’s assistant for Zak Penn on such projects as the new MATRIX film and the Shawn Levy/Ryan Reynolds action comedy FREE GUY. She spends her spare time writing, doting on her cats, producing a monthly stage show in Hollywood, and trying not to pop a blood vessel while reading the news.
